Online surveillance bill dead

Laura Payton, reporting for CBC News:

Federal Justice Minister Rob Nicholson says the controversial Bill C-30, known as the online surveillance or warrantless wiretapping bill, won’t go ahead due to opposition from the public.

Nice to hear that the public still has a voice. Unfortunately, they’ll likely try to resubmit some of these provisions in another form before long.
